AMMAN — Jordan, under the leadership of his majesty King Abdullah, has set a“model of coexistence of all components of Jordanian society based on mutual respect, trust, love and harmony without compromising religious beliefs”, Senate President Faisal Fayez said on Tuesday.

Receiving the chargé d'Affaires of the Vatican embassy in Jordan Monsignor Mauro Lalli, Fayez cited the World Interfaith Harmony Week launched by His Majesty and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly and the Amman Message, which underlined the Jordanian leadership's role in promoting the values of love, brotherhood and peace among faiths and rejecting hate speech, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The Vatican chargé d'Affaires commended Jordan's role in promoting human values and the shared values among the followers of the monotheistic religions. He stressed the importance of Jordan, with its various religious sites, as the starting point in the Christian pilgrimage to the holy places.
