US withdrawal from Afghanistan gives room for Pak-Turk governance


(MENAFN) In accordance to a researcher on safety and policymaking, the withdrawal of the US troops from Afghanistan gave room for the governance role of Pakistan and Turkey in the area, but a role like this, would need intelligent exercise, Rabia Akhtar, a professor of Security Studies at the University of Lahore, Pakistan stated.

Akhtar said to Anadolu Agency in a meeting in the Turkish capital, Istanbul “The major question everybody is asking is where is our region heading to,” where she is cooperating with university and think tanks on mutual policymaking and research.

The US’ longest war finished in Afghanistan in August after all the foreign coalition militaries left Afghanistan following two decades, while Afghanistan is facing economic challenges, and a future humanitarian disaster as the Taliban promise to protect Afghanistan from violence.
