India: Explosion leaves 6 paramilitary troopers injured in Chhattisgarh


(MENAFN) Police stated that on Saturday, Oct. 16 a minimum of six paramilitary troopers belonging to Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured in an explosion that ocurred in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh.

The explosion happened at a railway station in Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh.

A police official noted: "today morning at 6:30 (local time) an accidental blast took place at platform No. 2 of Raipur railway station. In the blast six CRPF personnel were wounded," adding: "the wounded personnel were immediately removed to hospital, where the condition of one was stated to be critical."

The CRPF men were handling detonator boxes at the railway station when the explosion occurred, said the police.
