(MENAFN) On Friday, Oct. 15 Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok expressed the transitional government's obligation to not permit any coup against what has been accomplished in the December Revolution.
Hamdok shared the statements in a speech broadcast by Sudan's official TV.
The Sudanese army expelled ex-President Omar al-Bashir in April 2019 amidst popular demonstrations that broke out in December 2018 against worsening economic states and rise in prices of basic goods.
The army then founded a transitional military council that had governed the country until August 2019, when the military and the opposition Freedom and Change Alliance formed a transitional government for a 39-month rule. The transitional period is set to be followed by polls to establish a fresh administration.
