Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, in cooperation with the Embassy of France in Qatar, recently organised a concert for pianist Maxime Zecchini entitled“A Musical Journey with Zecchini”, which was hosted by the Opera House. The concert was attended by a large public of different nationalities, considering all precautionary and preventive measures to maintain safety and health of the audience.
In his speech, Ambassador of France to Qatar H E Jean-Baptiste Faivre, expressed his happiness with the return to normal life and the resumption of musical concerts, after the COVID-19 pandemic, and that the first concert will be French, praising the pianist Maxime Zecchini, who is one of the most important pianists in the world and one of the few who play with one hand.
The Ambassador pointed out that the embassy is preparing to launch events in cooperation with Katara, including an art exhibition and the Katara European Jazz Festival next November, and thanked Katara for the ongoing cultural cooperation between them.
Maxime Zecchini played 10 pieces over an hour and a half that entertained the audience, including playing by moonlight, La La Land, out of Africa, and the pieces mixed between French classical music and music from various countries.
He said:“This is the first time I am visiting Qatar, and the atmosphere in the Opera House is wonderful and prepared in a fun way to play, and this is a beautiful and important thing for any artist to find an atmosphere that helps him to harmonize and play creatively and win the admiration of the audience, and this is what I felt from the interaction of the audience after each piece I played.”
The musician expressed his happiness to be in Qatar and to hold this concert and said that he touched the love and kindness of everyone and hopping that there will be other opportunities to present more concerts. Maxime Zecchini is one of the most famous piano musicians in the world, and he has won many international awards.
