Robots galore as artificial intelligence amuses Dubai Expo visitors

DUBAI, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- Visitors to Dubai expo are being entertained by the omnipresence of robots at the massive world fair, as artificial intelligence is proving to be nearly as adept at hosting an event of such magnitude as its human counterpart.
More than 150 robots present at the expo have been programmed to carry out tasks ranging from the complex to the mundane, including greeting visitors and serving up food to people in a display of how far technology has come.
The use of cutting-edge Technology has practically turned into a game of one-upmanship, as some 192 national pavilions at Dubai Expo are vying to steal the show by displaying their most recent technological advances to the delight of spectators.
The lavish event, which kicked off October 1, is taking visitors on a virtual trip to the future, where robotics and smart cities abound, foreshadowing a dazzling future ahead as scientific development picks up pace. (end) shd.nam
