Russia urges Turkey, Armenia to advance ties

(MENAFN) As stated by Russia's foreign minister, the end of the battle in the Nagorno-Karabakh area facilitate for development in Turkish-Armenian ties.

Sergey Lavrov said at the New Knowledge Forum in Moscow Ankara and Yerevan that it should continue working to normalization when Armenia and Azerbaijan inked a contract on Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020.

According to the minister "The parties saw the process of resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh issue differently. But now, when the war in Nagorno-Karabakh is over, there are grounds for unblocking the political process, transport, and economic ties, it would be logical if Armenia and Turkey resumed efforts to normalize relations."

He also declared that Russia is prepared to vigorously maintain this process.
