Mine blast in Donetsk region leaves 10 injured


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) An explosion rocked the coal mine, operated by the Pokrovsk Mine Management, located in the village of Udachne, Pokrovsk District, Donetsk Region.

The incident was reported by the press service of the regional office of the State Emergency Service, Ukrinform wrote.

The explosion occurred in the northern field conveyor lane, on the 815 m horizon, at about 05:12 Kyiv time.

According to preliminary reports, 10 miners were injured in the blast. The affected workers were hospitalized in the Pokrovsk-based Central District Hospital.

The cause and other circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

A response and rescue team is working at the scene.
