Fatalities in Gaza reach 181 as tension with Israel carries on for 7th day


(MENAFN) Officials noted that on Sunday, May. 16 conflicts between Israel and militant outfits in the Gaza Strip carried on for the seventh consecutive day as fatalities in the coastal enclave rose to 181 and another 1,225 were wounded.

Since Monday, 181 Palestinian people have been confirmed killed, comprising 52 children and 31 women, and another 1,225 had various wounds, noted the health ministry in Gaza in a press report.

Militant outfits, headed by the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), launched barrages of rockets from the Gaza Strip at cities and towns in central and southern Israel.

Security sources said that Israeli fighter jets increased its air raids on buildings, military posts and facilities associated with the militants all over the strip.
