Thousands of Palestinians flocks to Al-Aqsa to honor Laylat Al-Qadr

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RAMALLAH, May 8 (KUNA) -- After a night of Israeli violence, thousands of Palestinians flocked to Al-Aqsa Mosque on Saturday to honor with prayers "Laylat Al-Qadr" (Night of Revelation), despite restrictions imposed by the occupation forces.
After storming Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyard yesterday, firing bullets, tear gas, and sound bombs towards worshipers, wounding over 200 people, the Israeli occupation forces deployed checkpoints in the streets of Jerusalem leading to the Mosque preventing buses carrying Palestinians, from the occupied territories in 1948, to reach the city.
The people of Jerusalem published videos showing the occupation forces preventing over 200 buses to continue forcing the passengers to get off and walk towards Jerusalem.
Hundreds of people from Jerusalem used their private cars and transported Palestinians who got off the buses to Jerusalem and blocking the roads on the settlers in a step that defied the Israeli occupation forces.
Inside Jerusalem, locals were in the streets, providing water and dates to those coming to Al-Aqsa and setting Iftar tables for them.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that they treated two injuries, one as a result of severe beating at one of the Mosque doors (Al-Asbat), and the other was assaulted by settlers in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, in which they were transferred to the hospital.
After a night of violence, the people of Jerusalem cleaned the courtyard of the Mosque to receive thousands of worshippers who entered to perform dawn prayer chanting (Allah Akbar). (end)
