Libya: Turkish commission pays visit to Tripoli


(MENAFN) Turkish foreign ministry stated in a written report that on Monday, May. 3 a Turkish commission of ministers and intelligence head visited the Libyan capital Tripoli.

The report noted that the commission includes Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and head of National Intelligence Organization Hakan Fidan, stating that the discussion would tackle bilateral and regional matters.

The defense ministry stated in a different report that the Turkish Chief of General Staff Yasar Guler is also part of the commission.

This visit is the first of its kind from Turkey since the Libyan new unity administration is formed in March.
