Kuwaiti gov't prolongs partial lockdown until end of Ramadan to control coronavirus spread


(MENAFN) On Monday, Apr. 19 the Kuwaiti administration declared that the country will prolong the partial lockdown until the end of the holy month of Ramadan as attempts to control spread of coronavirus.

The lockdown hours will stay unchanged, from 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. local time, as of April 22 till the end of the holy month, said a conclusion made at a regular assembly of the administration.

There is a rise in fatalities and cases with more people in intensive care units (ICUs), stated Kuwaiti Minister of Health Bassel Al-Sabah at the assembly.

Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah noted after the assembly that the decision may be reevaluated with the regular review of the coronavirus pandemic condition.
