(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Apr. 18 (Petra)-Head of the Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee, MP Mirza Boulad, stressed the importance of the "deep-rooted" Jordanian-Iraqi relations, adding that Iraq's security is an integral part of Jordan's security.
Speaking during the committee's meeting on Sunday, with the Iraqi ambassador to Jordan, Haider Al-Athari, Boulad stressed the importance of stimulating investment between the two brotherly countries.
The Jordanian investor should be given priority and preference to participate in Iraq's reconstruction, stressing the need to facilitate support for Jordanian investment in Iraq, and overcome difficulties facing the Iraqi investor in the Kingdom, according to Boulad.
For his part, Al-Athari praised the level of the bilateral relations, pointing out that Jordan is the a "gateway" for Iraq.
The diplomat emphasized that the Iraqi community in Jordan includes many Iraqi investors and industrial businesspeople, who are an integral part of supporting Jordan's economy.
Regarding the industrial zone to be established at the two countries' borders and the electrical connection project, the envoy said "remarkable" steps have been made in this regard, calling simultaneously to activate the relations between the Jordanian and Iraqi parliaments.
