China: Yuan deteriorates last week


(MENAFN) The China Foreign Exchange Trade System (CFETS) reported that the Chinese yuan deteriorated against a basket of currencies in the past week.

The CFETS said that the CFETS yuan exchange rate composite indicator, which gauges the Chinese yuan's vigor in relation to a basket of currencies, stood at 96.73 on April 2, a decrease by 0.42 points from a prior week.

The indicator compares China's yuan with the value of a number of 24 currencies, comprising the USD, euro and Japan's yen.

The past week also witnessed an index that gauges the Chinese yuan against the bank for International Settlements currency basket decreases 0.37 points to 100.91.
