Jordan, led by the Hashemites, is a symbol of steadfastness-Tunisian envoy

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Mar. 6 (Petra)- The Tunisian ambassador to Jordan, Khaled Al-Suhaili, said Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, has become a "beacon of excellence and stability" despite the regional turmoil, describing the kingdom as a "symbol of steadfastness" due to a "wise and balanced" policy and the "unwavering" Jordanian positions at the international level, especially regarding the Palestinian issue.
Speaking at a press conference held Saturday, he congratulated the Kingdom's leadership, government and people on the occasion of the country's centenary, praising the achievements and progress it has achieved.
The envoy said the level of trade exchange between Jordan and Tunisia witnessed an 8% growth over the past year, indicating that Covid-19 pandemic did not negatively affect the joint trade exchange, as its volume reached about JD90 million.
The diplomat added that the two countries worked to transform the coronavirus-induced challenges into opportunities for cooperation and partnership, especially in the health, medicine and communication technology fields.
This joint partnership could help the two countries enter into new markets, as it enables Jordan to reach the southern desert markets in Africa and allows Tunisia to enter the Kingdom's neighboring markets, according to Al-Suhaili.
On joint action to enhance ties, he said the Tunisian-Jordanian Business Council will hold the third session bringing together the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) and the Tunisian Connect Foundation on March 19.
In addition, the Jordan industry and commerce chambers and the Tunisian Confederation of Trade, Industry and Handicrafts (UTICA) will also convene next April 6, he noted.
