Jordan- No people died after receiving 1st Covid-19 vaccine dose-Health ministry

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Feb. 10 (Petra) -The Ministry of Health dismissed media reports alleging some people have died after receiving the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry said the coronavirus vaccines used in the national immunization campaign are "safe, and in no way can cause Covid-19 disease."
The ministry said vaccine effectiveness increases and reaches its expected level after weeks of the second dose is administered, indicating that there is a possibility of the jab recipient infection during the incubation period, either preceding the intial dose, or shortly after, it is conducted.
However, adherence to prevention and public safety measures, primarily wearing a face mask, physical distancing and washing hands, is necessary after the initial dose is administered, according to the statement.
The ministry also called on citizens to follow up Covid-19- related information from its official sources via the website https://corona.moh.gov.jo and social platforms.
The ministry called on citizens to log in the gov't registration platform at the link https://vaccine.jo to receive the Covid-19 vaccine, per "simple" steps highlighting the vaccine effectiveness and efficacy.
