Kenyan president orders resumption of education over January

(MENAFN) On Saturday, Dec. 12, Kenyan leader Uhuru Kenyatta commanded the continuation of learning of all stages to carry on over Jan. 4 of 2021.

Pertinent ministries were demanded by Kenyatta, who talked with the people in Nairobi in celebrations commemorating the country's 57th Independence Day, to make sure that all children go back to school next month to guarantee obedience to the instruction and make sure that no child will be left behind.

He noted: "in that regard, and in line with the policy of the government on universal and compulsory basic education for all children of up to 18 years, all parents and guardians are required to facilitate their children to resume learning in January 2021."

Kenya's fundamental and tertiary institutions of learning shut its doors in mid-March after the first coronavirus infection was announced in the state, though partial reopening continued in early October.
