Saudi Press: The World Condemns Cowardly Terrorist Attack that Targets Global Energy Security


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Riyadh, November 26, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that targeting of fuel tank at the petroleum products distribution terminal in north of Jeddah, by Iran-backed terrorist Houthi Militia is a terrorist and criminal act according to the description of international law.
The paper said that the countries of the world and international organizations expressed their solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and expressed also their condemnation of the terrorist attack that targeted civilian infrastructure, considering it as a violation of international law and would undermine the ongoing peace efforts, destabilize the security of Saudi Arabia and the stability of the region as well.
The paper added that these countries and international organizations affirmed their absolute support for all the measures taken by Saudi Arabia to maintain its territories, security, and stability.
The papers further added that that Iran-backed terrorist Houthi Militia seeks to target global energy security and cause chaos in the petroleum market.
The paper concluded that such terrorist attack is not the first on oil facilities, as it was preceded by attacks on facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais in addition to sabotage operations targeting oil tankers in the waters of the Arabian Gulf, aiming at threatening the security and safety of international navigation.
Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud confirmed, during the virtual Cabinet session held under his chairmanship, the regional and International position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its vital role in the G20.
The paper added that such details are consistent with the thanks and appreciation expressed yesterday by President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the effective cooperation in the OPEC + group and his joint contribution to ensure the stability of global energy markets.
The paper concluded that President Putin said, during the ceremony of receiving the credentials of foreign ambassadors, that Russia and Saudi Arabia actively cooperate in the OPEC + group, which jointly contributes to ensuring the stability of global energy markets.
