Uruguay: unemployment average amounts 10.8 pct during August

With two-tenths of a percentage point higher than in July, unemployment average in Uruguay increased 10.8 percent during the month of August, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE) on Friday.

Resulting the highest rate since the month of August 2006, the unemployment average data for this August was higher than the 10.7 percent registered in June.

The INE reported that, 9.4 percent of the employed in the country, starting last week, were doing their job at home, and this is the lowest percentage since April.

A slow uphill trend of employment in the country, which increased because of the pandemic, has been noticed over the last three years
