The Uruguay Minister of Economy and Finance Azucena Arbeleche said on Monday that the economy of the country has started to recover in Q3 of 2020 after an economic crisis resulting from the coronavirus outbreak.

The official said that "fortunately, there are signs of recovery since the beginning of this third quarter", following a meeting with the board of the Rural Association of Uruguay (ARU) on the sidelines of Expo Prado.

Adding that the fuel and automobile sales are increasing as tax collection, while still declining, is dropping by less

The ARU argued for "the need to increase the competitiveness of the economy," according to the minister, saying "we have been working" on that since President Luis Lacalle Pou took office on the1st of March.
