PM praises commission managing Himmat Watan fund, thanks donors


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — The government on Monday expressed appreciation for the commission tasked with managing the Himmat Watan (a Nation's Effort) fund.

Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Omar Razzaz issued Defence Order No. 4 of 2020 establishing the fund at the end of March, which accepts local and foreign donations to support the Kingdom's efforts to eradicate the novel coronavirus.

Razzaz, during a phone call with Abdulkarim Al Kabariti, the fund's president, highlighted the difficulty of the current situation and the country's need for support, expressing thanks to all parties that have contributed.

Kabariti, for his part, lauded the government and the state institutions' efforts, highlighting the importance of responding quickly to meet the country's demands, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He also underlined the Central Bank of Jordan's support to the fund's work.
