Jordan- FM holds talks with Dutch officials


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Hague, Feb. 18 (Petra) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi met with several Dutch officials on Tuesday to discuss prospects of boosting bilateral cooperation and closer coordination to resolve regional crises.
The minister and the Dutch Defense Minister Ank Bijleveld reviewed enhancing bilateral defense cooperation to combat terrorism.
Safadi also briefed the Dutch Parliament''s Foreign Affairs Committee on regional developments, including the Palestinian cause as the central regional issue, the Syrian crisis, and the war on terrorism.
He highlighted the Kingdom''s reform programs which aim at overcoming economic challenges and addressing the repercussions of regional crises on local development.
He pointed to the investment and economic opportunities Jordan provides due to its strategic location, human capabilities and the free trade agreements it had signed with many countries, making it an attractive investment environment and a gateway to regional and international markets.
The Dutch minister and officials affirmed their keenness on boosting cooperation and strong friendship between the two countries within the European Union framework.
Safadi will travel to Moscow tomorrow for talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
