Kuwaiti tennis stars Antar, Salman emerge champions


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Oct 13:
Kuwait's tennis stars Bader Antar and Essa Salman realized a great achievement
for the State of Kuwait by winning a gold medal in the final match of the 1st
Kuwait International Amateur Tennis Championship after defeating the duo of
British Derren Akaroglo and Belgian Martin Cartez by two sets to one (6/2, 1/6,
10/8).

The
final match was attended by the Head of Saudi Arabian Tennis Federation
Mohammad Nasser Al-Ojaji, Deputy Chairperson of Kuwait Tennis Federation
Abdulsamad Al-Aryan, Treasurer of Kuwait Tennis Federation Ali Salem Daihani,
and a board member of the federation Saleh Sarawi.

The championship was organized
under the auspices of the Head of Kuwait and Arab tennis federations Sheikh
Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. A total of 23 countries
participated in the championship including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon,
Qatar, Iran, India, Philippines, Hong Kong, Romania, Greece, USA, Britain,
France, Italy, Russia, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Serbia, Slovakia, Kazakhstan
and the hosts Kuwait.
