Rohingya to receive new British financing

Rohingya people that are displaced in Cox's Bazar will be granted new financing valued at around USD95 million from the United Kingdom (UK).

Extra British funds will be allocated in support of the Bangladesh government and the UN joint response plan for displaced Rohingya people.

Using the amount, the UK hopes to provide lifesaving assistance that covers food, water and shelter, education, training and counseling.

Britain is looking through the fund for the forced displaced nationals of Myanmar to reconstruct their lifestyle.

On Sunday, the British High Commission in Dhaka stated "our goal is to find a solution to this crisis so that the Rohingya can voluntarily return to Myanmar in safety and dignity."

"And we remain committed to ensuring that conditions are put in place in Rakhine State to allow returns to happen," it added.
