Small businesses in W. Sydney to get CCTV

(MENAFN) High-definition closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance will be delivered to some 1,000 small businesses located in Western Sydney.

On Monday, the New South Wales State (NSW) Government explained that the move comes with a purpose to ensure community safety.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian guaranteed that "community safety is our top priority and these grants will help keep small businesses and communities safe from crime and antisocial behavior."

"CCTV cameras boost community confidence and send a strong message to would-be criminals that if you do the wrong thing, you will be caught and punished," the premier affirmed.

Under the USD3.4 million camera program, nonprofit community organizations and businesses are set to be granted USD3,437 with a turnover of less than USD1.4 million.
