UAE astronaut's spaceship nearly ready

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Russian Soyuz spacecraft has been refueled and is nearly ready to take UAE's first astronaut Hazza Al Mansoori to the International Space Station on September 25.
Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, tweeted: "Ship refueling completed at Baikonur of the Soyuz MS-15 fuel components and compressed gases. Then it was delivered for assembly at the test building and was installed in the slipway for further pre-launch work."
The ship and the rocket will be rolled out to the launch site on September 21.
Russia has the only rocket that can take humans to the ISS. The new Soyuz 2-1a rocket was recently tested during the Soyuz MS-14 mission and all launches are being moved to a new site after Al Mansoori's Soyuz MS-15 mission.
As KT reported previously, Al Mansoori and his crew will be the last ones to launch from the historic launch pad, called Gagarin's Start or Site 1. It's the same pad from where Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, was launched from. The first satellite and the first woman in space were also launched here.
