SDGs center to be inaugurated by Zambia, Rwanda

(MENAFN) Zambia was announced to be introducing alongside Rwanda the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Sub-Regional Center that was set up for southern Africa.

Wednesday was set as the day that Zambian President Edgar Lungu and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame will inaugurate the center.

More than 200 government officials, international organizations, development financing institutions and experts will be joining the event in Lusaka.

During the event, participants are expected to explore concerns related to the execution of SDGs within southern Africa.

Minister of National Development Planning Alexander Chiteme stated: "the SDG Sub-regional Center is an international not-for-profit institution, which, once launched, will provide technical support, neutral advice and expertise to national governments, private sector, civil society and academic institutions in order to accelerate the implementation of the SDG agenda."
