USD173.8m Australian grant to reach Solomon Islands for infrastructure


(MENAFN) Australia is pledging USD173.8 million to be spent on infrastructure for the Solomon Islands under a bilateral infrastructure program.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison headed on the first visit ever to the Solomon Islands, marking him as the first leader in Australia to make such a trip since 2008.

The program will be funding infrastructure over the upcoming ten years with a purpose to facilitate the process of employment in Australia for islanders.

Morrison stated: "this is important because having secured the stability, it is now time to really build into the economic success of Solomon Islands."
