Crude output in Iraqi Rumaila oil field increases

(MENAFN) The Rumaila oilfield, a super-giant oil field in southern Iraq, recorded a considerable boost in its crude output to stand at 1.5 million barrels of oil per day (bpd).

BP in Iraq project manager Nick White revealed that the figure comes in comparison to the previous crude production capacity of 1.45 million bpd.

This production increase, the project manager explained, is attributed to the construction of new crude facilities, new well drillings and water injection plans.

White affirmed that "we have eight drilling rigs at the moment and 11 workover rigs."
