DEWA electricity, water savings yield USD326m

(MENAFN) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) yielded USD326 million in its power and water savings under programmes and initiatives launched over the last decade.

Between 2009 and 2018, DEWA achieved 2 terrawatthours (TWh) of electricity and 7.4 billion gallons of water under its plans.

The savings are highly significant as the UAE is aiming to safeguard the environment, stressed CEO of DEWA Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer.

Al Tayer added "in line with its vision to become a globally leading sustainable innovative corporation, Dewa adopts an integrated strategy to raise awareness on the importance of rationalising consumption and involving all society members in efforts to protect the environment and preserve natural resources."
