Afghanistan: 9 militants die in airstrikes


(MENAFN The military declared that over nine militants have died after Afghan air force carried out air attacks in two provinces in the latest raids against militants.

Afghan ministry of defense confirmed that in one incident, five militants have died and two militants' fighting positions, a motorcycle and an amount of arms and ammunition were devastated when Afghan National Army (ANA) Air Force initiated sorties in Sangin district of southern Helmand province on Friday.

In neighboring Uruzgan province, four militants have died as four AK-47 guns and ammunition were dissolved in the raids on the outskirts of provincial capital Tirin Kot on Friday.

It added that no civilian was wounded in the most recent attacks, as "ANA will use all effective and appropriate methods to protect civilians and security forces on the ground."
