Arab Ministerial Committee commences

(MENAFN) On Friday, foreign ministers from the Arab world commenced a committee session ahead of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit in Beirut.

As the Ministerial Committee commenced, Lebanon's caretaker Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil urged for Syria to have back its Arab League (AL) membership.

Bassil stressed that "we should not create gaps in the relations among Arab countries. The biggest gap today is Syria. We can greatly feel the burden of its absence among us today."

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki also condemned Israel, saying that it "is adopting policies that aim at stealing our resources such as water, gas and agriculture wealth ... Israel is stealing the money of Palestinians through taxes."
