(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, Dec 8 (KUNA) -- The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) announced it will provide funds to support media and radio broadcasting in Djibouti, Somalia, Comoro Islands and Palestine.
In a statement to KUNA on Saturday, Assistant Undersecretary of the Publications Sector at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information and Head of ASBU, Mohammad Al-Awash, said the decision was made during the 100th meeting of ASBU's Executive Council in Tunisia.
He added that ASBU had also approved a plan to support Palestinian media.
Furthermore, participants in the meeting discussed boosting the presence of Arab media for covering regional and international events and developing cooperation with ASBU's counterparts in Asia and Europe. (end) ksj.ag
