Algeria, China ink cooperation deals on USD6b project

(MENAFN) Algeria was announced to have inked deals with China on the execution of the USD6 billion integrated project.

The mega project is to be launched with an aim to explore phosphate in the eastern region of Algeria.

Algeria's Sonatrach CEO Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour penned the cooperation agreements in Tebessa province with CITIC Construction Chairman Chen Xiaojia.

The project is "the largest industry project in the last decade in Algeria, as it marks the beginning of a real partnership between Algeria and China," stressed Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia.

"The project reflects a profound wisdom of Algeria in terms of serving its people, and we are proud to be selected to contribute in this process," Chen also commented.
