Kuwait's Sadu Craft Society chief calls for preservation of Sadu weaving


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) SHARJAH, The UAE, Nov 20 (KUNA) -- Chairman of Kuwait's Sadu Craft Society Sheikha Al-Taf Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah called on Tuesday to preserve the art of Sadu weaving, as a cultural value that reflects the bright image of Kuwait at international forums.
Sheikha Altaf made her remarks on the sidelines of the Kuwaiti Heritage Week, organized by the Sharjah Municipality, as part of its World Heritage Weeks program.
"The cultural heritage of any country tells the history of the state for future generations.", she said, stressing the importance of including the cultural heritage in the state's development strategies.
Sheikha Altaf stressed the need to transfer heritage-related skills to future generations through the establishment of museums and cultural centers.
She said that Kuwait's Sadu Craft Society has achieved to highlight the Sadu weaving as an element of the Kuwaiti cultural heritage.(end) smr.haq
