Lebanon suffers obstacles in gov't establishment: report

(MENAFN) Lebanon was suggested to have been slapped with a grave hindrance in its process of establishing a new government.

The newly surface challenges raised concerns of causing more holdups in the line-up of the new Lebanese government.

"The unfortunate development was surprising," stressed Lebanese daily newspaper al-Joumhouria.

The newspaper stated: "it was embodied in the political positions of some (parties) over the distribution of ministerial portfolios."

It comes after Lebanese President Michel Aoun stood against a Lebanese Forces political party nominee to take over the justice ministry.

"Efforts to form a cabinet did not go in vain despite uncertainty. It will only be delayed for a few more days because the decision is taken and it will be formed before the end of this month," a top official source said.
