Tajikistan, Turkmenistan ratify taxation agreement

The lower house of the parliament of Tajikistan has ratified the tax agreement with Turkmenistan, said Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic Mehrinamo Jonmamadzoda,Sputnik Tajikistan reported.

The agreement concerns the principles of collecting indirect taxes on the importation and exportation of goods, in the performance of work and the provision of services.

Jonmamadzoda noted that the document excludes double taxation, including excise taxes.

She considers the tax agreement will contribute to the development of trade between countries and attract investment.

Johnmamadzoda added that similar agreements were also signed between Tajikistan and Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Statistics shows thatin the eight months of this year, the trade turnover of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan exceeded $ 37 million.

It is specified that compared to the same period of 2017, the figure increased by 15.1 percent.

Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan were established on January 27, 1993

Tajikistan buys petroleum products from Turkmenistan, refined cottonseed oil, and cement.

Turkmenistan imports consumer goods from Tajikistan, aluminum and products from it, and agricultural products.
