Turkish economic confidence down 9 percent

(MENAFN) Turkey was found to have recorded a 9 percent decline in its economic confidence in August this year.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) unveiled the country's economic confidence index to have fallen, reaching 83.9 compared to 92.2 registered last month.

The slip has been caused by deteriorations in the consumer, real sector, services, retail trade and construction confidence indices.

TurkStat also revealed that "consumer, real sector, services, retail trade and construction confidence indices decreased to 68.3, 96.3, 88, 93.4 and 68.8 in August, respectively."
