S.Korean firms sign deal of solar energy farm in Guam


(MENAFN) State-run Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) said it has signed a deal to establish and operate a solar power farm and a storage facility in the US territory of Guam.

Under the pact with the Guam Power Authority (GPA), KEPCO and LG CNS Co., an IT system unit of LG Group, will build the 60 megawatt-generating solar farm and the energy storage system (ESS) with a capacity of 420 MWh on the Pacific island.

Starting in December next year, the group will sell electricity generated from the solar farm for 25 years, with the revenue estimated to reach USD403.6 million in total.
