Pakistan- 'Girls education is need of time', says KP CM


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) MARDAN: The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak said that girls cadet college in Mardan plays an important role in promoting education of girls.

While addressing a ceremony during a visit to under-construction building of Girls Cadet College Jamra in Takht-e-Bai, he said that the girls of this college will become reason of pride for motherland.

'It's an honor for Mardan district that first ever Girls Cadet College was established in this region,' he added with the hard work of academic staff, this college has made distinctive name on provincial and international level.

Provincial Education Minister Atif Khan, member of National Assembly Ali Muhammad Khan, member of Provincial Assembly Iftikha Ali Mashwani and principle of Cadet College Javed Sarwar also spoke at this occasion.

The CM told that the Cadet College building will be constructed on estimated cost of Rs2 Billion, 40 Crore on 240 canal land with well-furnished furniture and latest well-equipped facilities.

Shedding light on the importance of education for girls, CM said that without education, no nation can rise therefore it is a need of time for the girls to get education.

The political leaders in the past deliberately ignored the government schools, said Khattak, adding that the matric-failed and incompetent people were appointed in education departments and government schools on the basis of recommendations.

However, we want to bring reforms in education sector that may lower the class difference.

'We have appointed 57,000 teachers on merit basis and from the concept of two rooms and two teachers, we have initiated the concept of six rooms and six teachers in one school,' he maintained.

Answering a question about development in Mardan, he said that Women University was established in Mardan at an estimated cost of 2.5 million.

He further added that second engineering university of the province was also set up in Mardan.

He also stated that two fly overs are currently under-construction in Mardan with an estimated cost of Rs.1 billion.

'The construction of Board sports complex is completed at Rs. 37 crore,' Khattak said.

While referring to the upcoming jalsa in Lahore he said that 'A massive jalsa will take place on 29th April in Lahore'
