International Internal Audit Conference in Dubai gets big support from the Gulf and major firms

The International Internal Audit Conference, to be held in Dubai from May 6-9, 2018 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, is poised to set record for the number of delegates and the overwhelming support from some of the biggest and important organisations in the region as sponsors and strategic partners. “We are on our way to break the record, of more than 3,000 delegates for this international conference. And Dubai can show to the world that we are breaking another record. Further, global and local professional bodies are pledging their association and support to the largest audit professional’s summit in Dubai,” said Abdulqader Obaid Ali, Chairman of the conference and the UAE Internal Auditors Association (UAE IAA) Chairman. Obaid Ali added: “Governance is very important and essential for both the private sector and the government. Our conference focuses heavily on technology, AI and innovation because we are looking at developing the auditing professionals of the future who will play the role of advisors and leaders. We can't wait for the future; we are creating our future under the patronage of our wise and forward-thinking leadership to build a sustainable and innovative economy while simultaneously combatting waste, corruption, fraud, and other challenges to be discussed by experts.” More than 3,000 delegates from 110 countries will be flocking to Dubai to attend the MENA region’s first high profile international conference with the theme "Connecting the World Through Innovation," organised by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), along with the UAE Internal Auditors Association (IAA), at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 6 to 9, 2018. Speaking at a meeting of prospective supporters and strategic partners of the conference, Mr Abdulqader said many big names are on board, apart from global leaders and companies. “We have ample number of strategic partners who believe in what we are doing and they are helping us make this journey a success. The support of our strategic partners from Saudi Arabia is quite valuable. More than extending their support, they also intend to sponsor. About 300 delegates are expected from Saudi Arabia, which is really very good for us. IIA Saudi Arabia has approval of their board to send at least 40 students to the conference. We have a special session for them,” Abdulqader said. Attendees will have access to a number of educational sessions on current and emerging issues and trends, ranging from business sustainability, information security, and governance to risk, fraud, and corruption. It will also present industry best practices in addressing common challenges, as well as knowledge-sharing opportunities. The conference will have eleven tracks, with more than 60-70 international speakers to share their experience and knowledge with the rest of the world. A special attraction is that for the first time the organisers are allowed to have an Arabic track in the international conference to cater for the people of this region.
