Pakistan- Two soldiers martyred, five injured in attack from across Afghan border


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PARACHINAR: Two security personnel were martyred and five others were injured in an attack from across the border, officials at the political administration in Kurram Agency said on Sunday.

The attack was carried out from the Khost province of Afghanistan on a border post manned by Pakistan army in Laka Tigga area of Lower Kurram Agency.

Following the attack, scores of armed tribesmen from Bangash and other tribes rushed to the border to support the Pakistani security personnel.

Tribal elders reportedly made announcements at several mosques in the nearby areas, appealing tribesmen to join the security personnel on the border.

Pakistani forces retaliated the attack with full force and made the attackers run away, the officials said. However no causalities were reported from the other side of the border.

Meanwhile nine security personnel were injured in an Improvised Explosive Device blast in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan Agency on Sunday, Inter Services Public Relations said.

It said that the incident happened in Khajori area where IED planted at roadside exploded when a convey of security forces was passing by, injuring nine security personnel.

Among those injured area Havaldar Azhar Hussain Turi, Naiks Sharafat Ali Turi, Irfan Ali Khattak, Amin Kundi, Lance Naiks Hidayat Afridi, Khurshid Ali Turi, soldiers Fazal Din, Tariq Khattak and Wasim Akbar.
