Japanese navy employs first woman as warship squadron commander
(MENAFN) The Japanese navy was declared to have recruited the first female commander of a warship squadron.
The move comes as a support for efforts to attract further female personnel so as to compensate a deficiency of male employment.
The new recruit, Ryoko Azuma, was confirmed to be in charge of four ships along with 1,000 crew members that has among them only 30 females.
The new commander stated "I don't think about being a woman. I will concentrate my energy on fulfilling my duties as commander."
