Pakistan- Polling on 34 local govt seats in seven district held


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Polling on vacant union council seats in seven districts held on Tuesday that were fallen vacant after results cancelled for not allowing woman to vote.

Officials at the Election Commission Pakistan said that polling were held in 34 union councils of Kohat, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Swat, Shangla, Buner and Lower Dir on 27 general councilors, two Kisan, three women and nine youth seats.

The ECP said that polling were postponed in four union councils of Upper Dir due to bad weather and would be held on 29 March.

It should be noted that by-polls were held on these seats but its results were cancelled for either not allowing women to vote or ratio of women vote was less than 10 percent. As per ECP rules, ratio of women vote should not be less than 10 percent.
