Tajikistan to use grant money for budget support

Tajik government plans to draw in $35 million of grant money from the international financing organizations for the budget support, local news agency reported.

'The money will be spent on covering the state budget deficit,' Tajik Finance Ministry said.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) allocated more than $50 million for the budget support of Tajikistan in the framework of the program aimed to expansion of the economical capacity, development of the private sector and attraction of investments.

The total volume of the state budget deficit for 2018 is set at 0.5 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), what amounts to 334.3 million somoni (about $38 million).

Tajikistan plans to cover the budget deficit for 2018 by the income from privatization and use of the state property, as well as by loans and grants from the international financial organizations.

According to forecasts, the income from privatization and use of the state property will amount to 26 million somoni ($2.9 million)
