UAE- Khalifa Humanitarian Foundation, Tadweer visit Wahat Al Karama

ABU DHABI, 8th January, 2018 (WAM) -- Delegations from Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian Foundation and Tadweer, the Centre of Waste Management in Abu Dhabi, have visited Wahat Al Karama, the national landmark built to immortalise the sacrifices of the brave heroes of the UAE.

The Khalifa Foundation's delegation was headed by Director-General Mohammed Haji Al Khouri, while Tadweer's delegation was led by the Centre's General Manager, Saeed Al Muhairbi.

The two delegations began their visit by touring the memorial which comprises 31 tablets featuring the names of the fallen engraved in aluminum plates. The plates, each leaning on the other, represent the unity, solidarity and mutual support that bind together the leadership and citizens This was followed by a tour around the Pavilion of Honour, where the heroes’ names, as well as verses of the Qur’an, are engraved on its mural. They also visited the Memorial Plaza.

Al Khouri said that the visit to the memorial confirms the feelings of pride in our soldiers who sacrificed themselves to their homeland and left behind precious lessons in loyalty and love for the country and its leadership.

He went on to say that the delegation's visit to this national edifice is a duty and a commemoration of the nation's martyrs reflecting our pride in our heroes, who represent a symbol of dignity and will always remain in our hearts.

Al Muhairbi expressed his pride in the nation's brave soldiers, affirming that their sacrifices represent the UAE people's loyalty to their homeland, and maintaining the country's security and stability.
