Khaled Al Dhanhani signs copies of his book at Abu Dhabi International Book Fair

ABU DHABI 2nd May 2016 (WAM) -- Emirati writer Khaled Al Dhanhani spent yesterday evening signing copies of his new book "The First Home" at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2016.

The signing ceremony was attended by fellow writer Habib Al Sayegh Secretary-General of the General Union of Arab Writers and President of the UAE Federation for Writers renowned Lebanese columnist Jihad Al Khazen and a group of officials writers and journalists.

Al Dhanhani said "The book brings together some of my articles that reflect experiences of my personal life which I have charmingly and cheerfully lived. It tackles subjects in a simple and spontaneous manner without adding any linguistic cosmetics so as not to spoil its brilliance. Life is beautiful if naturally and simply lived but only farsighted people realise such a fact of consciously recognising its moments."

He explained that naming the book "The First Home" refers to the stage related to the homeland of boyhood where he has been secured by amulets and where his skin first touched its soil. He pointed out that the book includes many issues and concerns of the people and nations reflecting the reality of life experiences and journeys through cities villages and deserts "keeping my country in heart bringing its culture wherever I go wherever I stay."

Al Dhanhani said that he hoped that the book published by Midad for Publication would create a fruitful connection with readers paving the way along the course of knowledge culture and affection towards a bright civilised future of progress and prosperity.

Al Dhanhani who has previously published a book entitled "The Successful Representative the UAE Federal National Council in the light of the Parliamentary Electoral Experience" in 2014 is one of the most prominent poets in the UAE. He has participated in many local regional and international festivals and delivered cultural and poetic seminars in various European countries including France Germany Czech Republic Netherlands and India. His poems have been translated into English French German Malayalam and Hindi.
