Kuwaiti officials stress Arabian Travel Market importance in boosting tourism


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) Kuwaiti officials participating in the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai have stressed the importance of the exhibition in revitalisation of tourism as an ideal platform to connect with the most prominent tourist service providers and travel companies from around the world.

Kuwait is taking part in the ongoing Arabian Travel Market exhibition with the aim of promoting its tourism experience and luring leisure seekers from the other GCC countries.

Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, quoted Thiab Al-Rashidi, Kuwaiti Consul-General in Dubai, as saying, "After examining the Kuwaiti pavilion at the fairground that the Kuwaiti participation in the event signaled its keenness on boosting tourism and attracting tourists, particularly GCC citizens."

Samira Al-Ghareeb, Assistant Under-secretary for Tourism Affairs, affirmed this approach noting that Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah has personally devoted particular concern for this vital sector.

The State of Kuwait is seeking to encourage inter-GCC tourism and support any project intended to render the GCC countries a lucrative mecca for recreation seekers.

Kuwait Airways is also participating in the promotional activity, seeking deals with other companies in the aviation realm.
