Five Qaeda Members Killed in Yemen


Five Al-Qaeda organization members were killed today when Yemeni army forces repulsed a terrorist attack in Hadramaut governorate in eastern Yemen.

Official military source said in a press statement that army forces managed to thwart a terrorist attack which targeted the headquarters of the Special Security Forces in Al-Qutn city after receiving information about suspicious movements of Al-Qaeda, militants, pointing out that members of the military were able to detonate two car bombs before they arrived at their goal near a camp of the Special Security Forces branch in Al-Qutn Directorate and killed militants inside them.

The source confirmed that five bodies of terrorists were found scattered in the scene of the explosion, adding that during the clashes with the terrorists one of the soldiers of the 135 Infantry Brigade was killed and three others wounded.

It said that units of the First Military Area searched a number of houses in the area of Hota in the Directorate of Shibam after receiving information about the presence of terrorist elements holed up in them. During the search campaign a number of documents and maps related to Al-Qaeda terrorist schemes were found, the source said..
