Putin Calls for International Investigation into Malaysian Plane Crash


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Scow July 20 (QNA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has emphasized the need for an objective international investigation over the Malaysian passenger plane crash.

"The head of the Russian state emphasized that the tragedy that occurred once again confirms the necessity of a quick peaceful settlement to the acute crisis in Ukraine and said that all of the circumstances around the aircraft disaster need to be investigated carefully and objectively" the Kremlin's press service said.

During a phone conversation with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte on Saturday Putin said that investigation must be conducted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) involving all interested parties.

The Russian President also called on to exert utmost efforts to ensure the work of the representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in securing the entry of the international experts to the disaster area.

All 298 passengers and crew died when Malaysia Airlines flight crashed in south eastern Ukraine on Thursday including 192 Dutch. (QNA)
